Making the most of your time
From the part one blog of this series (Happy New Year Means Happy New Me), we were able to establish 3 truths about how to have a happy new year.
Let is look at the word of God together and let’s get perspective from the scripture on how we can the most of our time.
Ephesians 5:15-16 New King James Version (NKJV)
15 See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, 16 redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
Ephesians 5:15-16 The Message (MSG)
11-16 Don’t waste your time on useless work, mere busywork, the barren pursuits of darkness. Expose these things for the sham they are. It’s a scandal when people waste their lives on things they must do in the darkness where no one will see. Rip the cover off those frauds and see how attractive they look in the light of Christ.
Wake up from your sleep, Climb out of your coffins; Christ will show you the light!
So watch your step. Use your head. Make the most of every chance you get. These are desperate times!
I have discovered that there are 3 levels of using time:
The bible says, teach us to number our days that we may gain a heart of wisdom (Psalm 90:12). This means being intentional about the way we use our time is having a ‘heart of wisdom’.
How can we use our time wisely, by living on level 3 (Investing it)?
I’ve discovered that making the most of our time does not come by accident, we need to be intentional.
In summary, we have learnt that
Having a ‘Happy New Year’ means becoming a new person that use their Time, Talent, Thoughts, Trusts (relationship) and Treasures well. In subsequent blogs on this series, we will go in-depth in our discussion about the ‘Five tools of Life’ to help you have a ‘Happy New Year’
