I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.
Jeremiah 29:11 (MSG)
God is like the director of a long-running hit-musical called ‘Life.’ You have been cast by God to play a role, and when your role is done, you exit the stage. When the director casts an actor or actress, he specifies when the actor or actress comes into the play, the duration, the frequency of their involvement, and the event that leads to their exit. The director ensures that the actor / actress have all the resources required to fulfill their role.
God has chosen you and scripted your life. Let this put your mind at rest, knowing that your future is in His hands. He says in Jeremiah 29:11, that "He knows the plans which He has for you, plans of good and not of evil, plans to give you an expected end, plans to give you a future that is full of hope."
Therefore, ensure that God is at the centre of your financial plans and projections. With all the knowledge that financial experts in this world have, they can’t predict the future. So they make it clear that nothing is guaranteed. However, you have a creator that knows your future and the financial resources that you need for that future.
I am reminded of the song; ‘Because He lives, I can face tomorrow.’ This song was written by American gospel singer/songwriters, Bill, and Gloria Gaither. They wrote the song in the middle of a major cultural change in the '60s and financial insecurity. In the midst of all the discouragement and uncertainty, they decided to embrace the plans of God to guide them through that season.
As a result, they were inspired to write a song expressing their hope in God (against all hope), it has provided comfort and encouragement for many people since its release in 1971. The chorus of the song says:
This is what our attitude should be, as Diamond Believers when planning our financial future. Remember that you are chosen by God. You may be going through an uncomfortable financial experience, but you can ‘face tomorrow because He lives.’ As a Diamond Believer, God ‘holds your future and your life is worth living,’ you are fashioned by God and precious to man. These are the words that will inspire you to keep persevering during the various financial seasons of the future.
For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
